Coconut Water



Do you know the goodness
of coconut water? It's natural and utterly
refreshing. It contains water and electrolytes
any good drink should have.


What It Contains

The water of a coconut is found within its shell. To enjoy it, cut off the top of the shell of a young coconut. Use a straw and you'll have a most refreshing drink. You may prefer it chilled before you cut off the top of the fruit. Personally, I find this more refreshing especially on a hot day.

It contains water, a small amount of sugar that gives it sweetness and a significant amount of electrolytes (minerals), notably that of potassium. It does not contain any fats which is found in its meat. So, unless you take its meat (flesh) or gel in young coconut, you don't have to worry too much about fats or calories. Benefits of a Coconut Drink

Prevents dehydration: It is good for anyone as we lose water from our bodies one way or another. It is especially good for those who are physically active and sweat a lot. It is also extremely good for those who are having diarrhea as they need to replace fluids and electrolytes that are lost.

Diuretic therapy: It has diuretic properties and hence is good for those who have problems of passing urine.

Potassium: This mineral is essential for various body functions. It is easily depleted in those who have a preference for more salt in their food. Coconut water is an excellent source of potassium.

Good natural nutrition: This natural drink is packed with nutrients. It can be enjoyed on its own or you may want to use it in your favorite smoothie instead of adding milk.
